Conference Abstracts
We encourage your ideas and participation at the conference by presenting
a workshop or skills building institute in your area of expertise. All workshops are 1
hour and 30 minutes in length and institutes are 3 hours. Up to two presenters will
receive a $25 discount on their conference registration fee. If you are interested in
presenting at the conference, please submit a one-page summary (outline) of your
presentation on or before November 14, 2003, in the following format:
- Contact name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone and fax numbers Your agency or
affiliation (i.e., your school group, or job)
- title
- goals and objectives
- Workshop or Institute
- Track--choose from the following:
- Use Your Voice--Advocacy and Skills development
- Positive Living—Models of care, support services, and advocacy for youth living
with HIV
- Power of Prevention—Innovative Peer-based prevention education programs; art
and theater HIV prevention initiatives; HIV prevention knowledge and skills building
- Our Communities--Specific youth populations, including
gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning youth, youth of color,
homeless youth, young women, etc.
- Supporting Youth--Adult service provider series; building the skills of adults
working with youth
- Materials needed (i.e. slide projector, VCR, easel with paper. etc.)
- Target audience (i.e, youth, adults, HIV+ youth, college age)
- Names of additional panelists or presenters
- Four sentence summary to promote your workshop to attendees
All workshop ideas will be reviewed by the Program Committee. You will be
notified of the Committee's decision by December 15, 2003. Please submit your abstract to
